Spring Country Chic with eShakti | Sponsored Post

Lovlies! How are you doing? I knowwwww, it’s been too long, I haven’t posted in two months, but fear no more, I’m BACK!

So let’s jump right in! I’m finally employed, with 2 freelance gigs and a part-time job at Starbucks, making my favorite drinks of course and I’m also taking a fashion design class at a community college. As well I’m also in the works of starting my own consulting business, later this year. I guess you could say, that I’m back to being productive!

Honestly I am in a much better place mentally, and spiritually, not just because of the blessings, but because of how I’ve been handling life lately. I’m working on not being so uptight and wanting to be in control so much, and just learning to understand God’s purpose for my life.

Anyway, I was so happy that eShakti reached out to me again, I seriously love everything that they stand for-“Real Clothes for Real Women”. With eShakti, you can custom design your clothes based on your measurements along with adding other features, such as pockets, shorter or longer hems, etc. My measurements looked like this:

So if you have the ability to take your own measurements, or need someone to do it for you, it’s pretty easy to plug them in and save to your account with them. I chose this dress because it’s perfect for the spring season, it’s the perfect length for me, as I’m 5’5, which is pretty average height.

I also adore the off-the shoulder and lace up details, that’s what really attracted me to choose this dress! I can dress it up with heels or dress it down with some cute and comfy sandals.

Ever since I started dressing myself at the tender age of 7 years old, I have never matched, in fact I would always purposely mismatch my clothes to express how different I was. I didn’t understand the importance of doing that, until now. In a society where trends define who some people are, it’s difficult sometimes to remain, well different. Lately, I have been thinking how I want to live my life. especially since I’m about to graduate college in May. It’s so easy to just want to conform and do what everyone else does, but is that any fun? Nah. I have made my mind up that I’m going to live my the way I see it; no more saying yes to everyone’s request, no more confusing being busy with living a productive life and certainly no more comparing my body to others. I take this approach to my style as well, I like to think that the younger Jasmine remained true to her style, and that makes me smile from ear to ear. I have never dressed to get validation from other people, I’ve always dressed according to what I felt was right within myself. The ripped jeans I have on, are my favorite, I got them from New York & Company a couple years and later decided to cut them up. And those bright shoes? I’ve had my eye on them, they meshed perfectly with this edgy, casual look.

Anyway, there was this book I read last year called You are a Badass: How to stop Doubting your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life,”  that woke me up to how I approached life. One quote that stuck with me was that “Our subconscious mind, on the other hand, is the non-analytical part of our brain that’s fully developed the moment we arrive here on earth.” That’s how I want to live my life, I’m usually overthinking something and that is not a healthy way to go about living life. I want to embrace where I am in life, even though I am not certain of where I’ll end up next, I will not conform to that way of thinking anymore.

Thanks for reading loves.

This whole embracing your sexy thing is new to me, especially since it’s an untapped concept  that I’ve never explored. I remember being younger, and cringing when spring/summer came, I’d hate wearing anything that was revealing and showed my body. I especially didn’t like showing my arms, they’re kind of flabby and have no definition, but I’m totally ok with that. Funny thing is, I used to never wear styles like this above; this body hugging dress, shows every curve of my body and arms. And those wedge strappy sandals, I would never think to wear them, until now.

At this very moment I’m opening myself up to embracing and wearing more styles like these, I feel and look damn good! My ass looks great, my thighs are juicier than ever and I’m cool with my arms being out and you should too, it’s your body and you should love every inch of it. Have a spring fling with yourself!

Enjoy your body!

xoxo

Spring, Baby!

As of now you all should know that I am intensely obsessed with pencil skirts and I take any chance to wear one no matter the weather. In today’s style post, I’m wearing one of my favorite skirts from a local, Houston retailer, Ntroverted Xpressions. The floral print of this skirt makes me giddy just looking at it, the print is perfect for the upcoming spring season and practically goes with anything. I paired my skirt with a white v-neck T-shirt, sparkly gold pumpsflower necklace and nude clutch ( I love my clutch, it goes with EVERYTHING).

This style is perfect for a lovely Sunday brunch with friends, date night or going to an art gallery viewing! As well, everything that I wear has to stretch, I have a big butt in case you didn’t know. The skirt is roomy and is a size 1X, my shirt is a size large, because I’m smaller in the bust area so usually my they have to fit smaller than my bottoms.

For me it’s always fun to dress up a basic white t-shirt, they are truly classics that you need in your closet. You could try this look, or maybe dress it up more with a bigger statement necklace and brighter heels. I hope you enjoyed this style! And don’t forget to show me how you dress up your white t-shirt!

Where are You Shopping?

Happy Hump Day lovelies, you’re almost to the weekend, I know I’m excited! Anyway, in today’s post, I will be sharing with you 3 retailers that are now carrying plus sizes. The list includes Target’s Ava & Viv, Charlotte Russe Plus Sizes + and H&M +. First, I just want to say that I am thrilled that there are more brick and mortar stores carrying plus sizes, we have options now! I know for me being a college student loving to shop, it can sometimes be overwhelming especially with my humble budget. I mean I love looking cute too, so of course I had to share this list with you all!

Let’s start with Charlotte Russe!

This week they recently just launched their plus line and I was more than thrilled, because I love shopping there. I mainly just buy shoes and accessories, but now I have the opportunity to actually buy clothes! I haven’t had the chance to visit my location for their plus line, but they are online as well. Below are some of my favorite pieces that I can’t wait to snag! I chose these looks because they are perfect for the spring/summer season. And…they have a few discounts too!

Next is H&M Plus:

So I’m officially in love with their newly updated line and can’t wait to get my hands everything. Just glancing at their clothes I notice they have more refined and casual looks that you can dress up or down. I also like to shop here for their business casual clothes which can be transitioned from day to night. So if you’re going for the “young professional and chic” look, this is your place to shop. They also have my favorite chino pants too, who doesn’t love chinos? Below are some of my go to looks. I chose these looks based on this amazing bi-polar weather (sarcasm at its best) we’re having in Texas, because you never know what the weather will be like.

Price Range: $25-$70

Size Range: 14-24

Last, but not least Target’s Ava & Viv:

Fellow plus size bloggers Nicole Mason, GabiFresh and GarnerStyle had a lot to do with getting this line to Target and I am very grateful that they did. This line is the epitome of cool, fresh and comfy. The fabric is breathable and stretchy, as well as affordable for the ladies shopping on a budget. I am excited about this line because it has the potential for growth and gives us bigger women another option to find clothes. I don’t know about you, but this is a huge step towards improving clothes for plus size women, we are no longer subjected to blowsy moo moo tops or shapeless jeans, there are clothes out there for us! Now get out and go shop! (whoa, sorry I got a little excited, but you get where I’m going).
